RECOUNT TEXT
- Definition of Recount
Recount is a text
which retells events or experiences in the past. Its purpose is either to
inform or to entertain the audience. There is no complication among the
participants and that differentiates from narrative.

recount adalah teks yang menceritakan kembali peristiwa atau pengalaman di masa
lalu. Tujuannya adalah untuk memberi
informasi atau menghibur pembaca. Dalam teks recount, tokohnya tidak memiliki konflik atau permasalahan yang harus diatasi. Hal inilah yang membedakan recount dengan narrative).

Example of Recount:
A Wonderful Holiday
This is the picture of me and
my friend in Borobudur Temple in Central Java. As you know, Borobudur is one of
Indonesia cultural heritages.
We went there about
two years ago with our school entourage when our school, Senior High School 1
Bangli, held study tour to Java Island. That was my first time went to
Borobudur. Before I arrived at Borobudur, I saw Mendut Temple, another temple
in Borobudur Temple complex. I set foot on the top of Borobudur after I
ascended many stairs that connect the lowest part and the highest part of
Borobudur. I was tired at that time, but I did not feel it anymore when I saw a
magnificent Borobudur with all of its stupa. It was so amazing! From the top of
Borobudur, I could see a very beautiful view and the whole area of Borobudur
complex. Moreover, the air was really fresh and cool.
I took some photos
with my friends there. As you can see from the photo, we were happy and enjoyed
it. There’s belief if we can reach and grab Buddha hands inside the stupa of
Borobudur while we wish for something, our wishes will be come true. So, I
tried to reach the Buddha hands but unfortunately I could not. Maybe that was
not my lucky day. However, I did not feel sad because of that, for I could try
it again sometime.
Over all, it was a
great and wonderful holiday.
